My basil and cilantro are about to go to the bees… —checker

What You'll Need
Ingredients
  • 1 handful fresh basil, whatever variety is about to bolt in your garden
  • 1 handful fresh cilantro, the part that hasn’t bolted yet
  • several shaves of jaggery, or the equivelant of evaporated cane sugar
  • 2 parts tequila, your choice
  • 1 part Triple Sec
  • juice of ½-1 lime, or to taste
  • ice
Directions
  1. Rip up the basil and cilantro leaves as you put them in a cocktail shaker. Add the jaggery and lime juice and muddle a bit.
  2. Add the ice, tequila, and triple sec and give it a good, long shake.
  3. Strain over ice and garnish with basil or cilantro leaves.

Someone once said, "the wise man knows that he knows nothing at all." Therefore if I spend my days seeking knowledge than I am simply trying to be a better fool. Hopefully I will eat well along the way.

Many thanks! By the way, I bought a bottle of Creme de Violette. I have a little "crush" on a drink you posted...

Thanks so much. I haven't posted that recipe here yet, thinking it would be something few folks would try...but maybe I will. I can't believe how many drinks I have made over the past year!

I don't know how a margarita could ever be improved upon, but I think you've done it!!! Can't wait to try this.

If you have cucumbers I highly recommend floating a few slices in the glass as well.
