Mr Pai from Pai Brothers a famous dosa center in kerala they make 100 verities of dosas taught me this recipe
My 1st recipe with Viking professional hand blender.

What You'll Need
Ingredients
  • Coconut Paste - 1 cup
  • Peanut Butter- 1/2 cup
  • Red Chili Powder- 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black Mustard Seeds- few
  • Oil- 2 tablespoons
  • Salt- to taste
  • Coconut Water 1/2 cup
Directions
  1. Combine all the ingredients except (mustard seeds & oil) With your hand blender until you get a smooth paste.
  2. Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds when it spluttered ,
  3. Pour the paste into the pan, mix well turn off the flame
  4. Serve hot.

boulangere thank you for your comment US trip postponed to November 2011 We were in Punjab ( popular Punjabi cuisine like Tandoori and chicken Tikka ) and Kashmir for 15 days really beautiful my 1st time

Interesting variation of spiced peanut butter Pauljoseph.. (I've incorporated PB into another classic south Indian Relish, but haven't posted out as yet..)

Sagegreen Put the grated coconut in the blender, add little water or coconut water to make a fine paste
Coconut paste and coconut milk are two different things. Food recipes that use coconut milk cannot be made with coconut cream or paste and vice verse.

I love dosas, and over 100 varieties is very impressive! When you say coconut paste, what exactly is that? I am familiar with coconut milk, but is the paste different?
