Author Notes

This recipe has always been a huge hit. It combines fresh asian flavors of ginger and scallion into the classic hamburger. Perfect when you just can't decide between dumplings and burgers! —Leslietron

What You'll Need
Ingredients
  • 2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1 bunch scallions
  • 2 ounces ginger
  • 3 splashes soy sauce
  • 3 splashes sriracha hot sauce or chili garlic sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1 onion
  • 3 pieces garlic
Directions
  1. Saute the onions and garlic in a large frying pan over medium heat until soft and caramelized, about 15 minutes. In a bowl combine: Scallions (chopped finely into ringlets), ginger (ground finely on a cheese grater or lemon zester), soy sauce, sesame oil, chili and garlic sauce, meat, and the sauteed onion and garlic. You can add a dash of white wine vinegar if you're feeling adventurous. Mush together with your hands until ingredients are fully combined. Form into patties. Cook and serve however you normally would for a hamburger or cheeseburger - you can add cheese and ketchup, serve with lettuce and tomatoes, it's fully customizable.

Yum. Does it taste extra super sesame with 2 Tablespoons of Seame Oil? I love it but husband can't take too much of it.
