@irishchef But the Heinz Chili Sauce adds a real depth of flavor to this sauce. Sriracha is a little to garlicky for my taste in this dish.

I have been doing this same ingredient cocktail sauce for years except I also add some hot sauce tomitmas well. This a simple recipe. Why buy store bought when this is so easy?

I love the idea of adding lemon juice. One more ingredient, which we believe makes a positive, spicy difference is a squirt or two of sriracha sauce. We often throw together a tiny impromptu bowl of cocktail sauce - 24 oz would leave us with the need to store yet another jar in our already crowded refrigerator! It is so quick to mix up, that having it on hand already prepared wouldn't save us all that much time.

Half ketchup & half chili sauce will help the sauce not to thicken as fast when it is refrigerated. Surprisingly chili sauce (Heinz) doesn't add any heat to it.
