Once in a while it`s nice to have a meal without meat.
I always serve this dish with basmati rice, mango chutney and yoghurt. —myfoodpassion

How do you think it would be to substitute sweet potato for the potatoes?

can I get an estimate for 14 oz of red lentils in cups? I've never used a scale before so I can't even guess myself

14oz is the size of a can, so ready made lentils is a can of lentils - if uncooked then half of that :) (400g can or 200gms for half)

Tried this recipe tonight and it was delicious. Thai curry meets Indian curry. I see you have listed lemon on the ingredient list, however it is nowhere to be found in the body of the recipe. Also, on the recipe body you mention butter, but it's not listed in the ingredients list. How much did you add? And when did you add the lemon?
Thank you! Great recipe!!

Hi Cindy, I found the recipe on her blog (http://en.myfoodpassion.net/home/red-lentil-and-potato-dhal), but the butter seems to be missing there as well, hopefully she weighs in soon!
