What You'll Need
Ingredients
  • 2 2/5 cups flour
  • ½ cups sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 3/4 cup
    2 tbsp cold butter

  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 handful dates
  • 1 handful dried apples
  • 1 handful pistachios
  • 75 milliliters apple juice
  • 6 medium apples
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 7 ounces almond paste
Directions
  1. Combine flour, salt, butter and egg yolk in a bowl and form a bowl. Set in the fridge for at 30 minutes.
  2. Grease a springform pan.
  3. Dice the dried apples and dates. Add pistachio, dates and apples to the apple juice until the fruits have absorbed all the juice.
  4. Divide the dough in two, roll out one half and spread out nicely in the Springform pan. Make sure to really pull up the borders. Prick the bottom of the dough with the tip of a fork.
  5. Preheat the oven on 350F
  6. Spread out the diced apple over the dough than add the dried fruits. Add cornstarch, cinnamon and sugar.
  7. Crumble the second half of the dough on top of apples. Crumble the almond paste and spread over the cake as well
  8. Bake for 45 minutes until golden brown. When it fully cooled down, remove the Springform.

How much butter do you mean?

MarieGlobetrotter March 12, 2013
About 200g so 3/4 cups plus about two tablespoons.Weirdly enough I do it by intuition because I know what the dough is supposed to look like but that how much butter I usually put on average
