We keep grapes in the freezer all summer for a simple and refreshing snack or dessert. This time I dressed them up with a little sugar and set them on a sweet and tangy yogurt sauce elegant enough for company! —inpatskitchen

What You'll Need
Ingredients
  • 4 cups seedless grapes (your choice of colors)
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup plain yogurt (preferably Greek)
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar (packed)
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
Directions
  1. Rinse and drain the grapes leaving them moist. Place them in a bowl and toss with the granulated sugar. Transfer to a large freezer bag and freeze for at least two hours.
  2. Combine the yogurt, brown sugar and sour cream in a bowl and then refrigerate until ready to serve.
  3. To serve, spread some yogurt sauce on individual serving plates and top with as many frozen grapes as you like. Or surround a bowl of the sauce with the grapes and let everyone have at it!

I think I get my love for food and cooking from my mom, who was an amazing cook. She would start baking and freezing a month before Christmas in order to host our huge open house on Christmas afternoon. I watched and I learned...to this day I try not to procrastinate when it comes to entertaining. My cooking style is pretty much all over the place, although I'm definitely partial to Greek and Italian cuisine. Oh yes, throw a little Cajun in there too!

Love this, would substitute with coconut palm sugar, a preference I think would work. Would need to toss with a little granulated sugar for the beautiful effect!

Thanks lapadia! Coconut palm sugar on the grapes or in the sauce?

lapadia June 4, 2013
In the sauce, the grapes need the effect of the granulated sugar! :)

My mom always made a dip for fruit with sour cream and brown sugar but the coconut palm sugar sounds amazing! Thanks for the hint!

Your mom's dip sounds delish; the coconut palm sugar is a lower glucose level (something I like), but not as sweet to the taste for some, but I think the sugared grapes should take care of that.

The sugared grapes are amazing on their own!
