Chunky Caramel Apple Pie

I really fancied making something with caramel and as my boyfriend’s favourite dessert is apple crumble I made this! The sound of caramel and apples together makes my mouth water and tastes amazing too!

What You'll Need
Ingredients
  • 1 packet shortcrust pastry (500g)
  • 6 pieces Large cooking apples
  • 1 packet canned caramel
  • 3.5 ounces sugar (100g)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon flour
Directions
  1. Peel and cut the apples into large chunks.
  2. Mix together the sugar, cinnamon, sugar and apples. Put in a pan over a medium-low heat until the sugar begins to melt.
  3. Add the can of caramel to the apple mixture and mix well.
  4. Roll out half the shortcrust pastry for the base of the pie. Then pour over the apple mixture.
  5. Bake in the oven at 400f for 40 minutes, then at 375f for 20 minutes or until the apples are soft.

i love the idea of this but wish the ingredients were not prepackaged goods that we can't find in the USA!
