Author Notes

This sweet and spicy cod recipe will clear your sinuses and give you a hint of sweetness. If you love chili sauce, this recipe will be a new favorite. The glaze would be great on any white fish. —Jorden Fowler

What You'll Need
Ingredients
  • 3-5 tablespoons Sriracha, or your favorite chili sauce
  • 4-6 teaspoons Honey
  • 1-2 teaspoons Brown Sugar
  • 4 Cod Fillets, or your choice of white fish
  • as needed Salt & Pepper
  • as needed Olive oil
Directions
  1. Combine the first 4 ingredients and set aside.
  2. To prep the cod, place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, or spray baking sheet generously with pan spray.
  3. Rub olive oil on the cod to coat even and season both sides with salt and pepper. Put fillets under the broiler on low for 3-4 minutes to begin the cooking process.
  4. Remove from the oven and brush the glaze on the top of the fillets according to the amount of spice that you would like and return them to the oven for another 3-4 minutes.
  5. With the remaining glaze, if any, place in a small saucepan and reduce until slightly thickened and, if desired, drizzle over baked fillets.

'four cod filets' is a pretty ambiguous quantity. Also the typo to 'blend the first 4 ingredients' when there are only 3 for the glaze. I followed the recipe and the sriracha was overwhelming, but I should have known better (should have halved it per carlos)

Quick and easy! Makes for a delicious week night dinner. I love spicy so I really enjoyed it.

Either there's an ingredient missing, or step one has a typo.

I prepared this dish tonight, with a couple of slight changes, I halved the sriracha, and added 2 teaspoons of maple syrup as one of our guests does not like very spicy foods, I would make this again.
