Author Notes

This is one of the all time favorite breakfasts and snacks in my family. We grew up eating our bagels with salami instead of with cream cheese. I guess we're kind of weird. But, it's a delicious combination. —fiveandspice

What You'll Need
Ingredients
  • 1 bagel – whatever (savory) flavor you prefer (I like plain or sesame)
  • good salted butter
  • a few very thin slices of salami
Directions
  1. Slice your bagel in half and toast it until it is golden brown. Spread each half with a generous smear of butter. Lay a couple of thin slices of salami on each half. Eat each half as an open-faced sandwich. Bliss.

Made these this morning with English muffins and basil butter leftover from last night's grilled corn - it was great. Thanks for my new favorite quick breakfast!

I've been meaning to give a BIG THANK YOU for awhile now, because this idea is just so wonderful. We have English muffins on hand more often than bagels and we've been eating them this way all summer. My kids love them too. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
