Vintage Copper Stockpot, Early 20th Century
Vintage Copper Stockpot, Early 20th Century
Take stock.
As regal as any piece of cookware can be, this tall and slender, impeccably restored vintage stockpot features its makers mark on both the pan and lid. It’s stamped with both the Swiss and British Flags, and the mark proclaims the Swiss maker “HELVETIA,” though this beauty was made in England in 1919. The dual heritage is a mystery, but the myriad of ways we want to use it is not: for steaming asparagus, using as the base of a double boiler, or simmering up a pot of soup. The pot features a hand-hammered finish and hand-cut heavy brass handles with copper rivets.
