I've always loved to cook - my first mistake, when I was about 5, was oatmeal that burned in a pot so I quietly walked across the street and threw it away in the neighbor's trash! I couldn't let my mother find out about it.
One of my first triumphs was crepe suzette as a brunch for a high school slumber party.
I love formal dinners with many courses, brunches on the patio and alfresco dinners by candlelight during warm summer nights.
My garden is my source for many veggies including arugula, asparagus and artichokes and more, my fruit trees: avocado, orange, grapefruit, lemon, persimmon, apple, peach and apricot also lend themselves to lots of cooking and baking. My seasonal field of nasturtiums is also a fun addition for salads along with my various spices that grow outside my back door.
