I grew up enjoying the home cooking of two grandmothers from two distinctly different regions of Italy - Bari and Sicily. Can you imagine enjoying homemade raviolis with cheese and light tomato sauce and meat/spinach raviolis with fresh tomato sauce for the holidays! Their style of cooking was very different and I started watching them cook from the time I was born. No written recipes - everything was done by sight, feel and taste. In order to remember their recipes, I had to actually take notes while they were cooking!
