I grew up in California but migrated East via a number of places along the way and currently reside in Saint Petersburg, Florida with my husband. It's a little hot for my liking, but otherwise a truly beautiful place to live.
I am currently in between careers and enjoying cooking at home most days, but previously worked for attorneys out of college and then became self-employed, first in real estate and more recently in a direct selling business for five years.
I am a self-trained home cook. My mom worked while I was growing up so it was easier for her to cook alone than to let me help out. It wasn't until my early 20's that I really started cooking - Martha Stewart being an early inspiration!
I'm very interested in health (that doesn't mean I eat healthy all the time), and recently joined a co-op (organic fruits and vegetables) and just started ordering our animal protein from a Florida farm (alrosas.com) which is "truly" free-range grass fed beef, chickens, pork, etc. It's wonderful! One day I'd like to learn more about growing our own produce.
