I work for an environmental non-profit and like to supply my meetings with pies and cakes. At parties, I can be found around the buffet table, asking people about the dish they brought and how it was made. And how they learned to cook. And what they think of my pie.
I love fruit desserts, corn, all manners of seafood, butterscotch, Wisconsin cheeses, and anything involving rose or malt powder (both push all my Proustian buttons).
