If I can't find it, I make it. I have never met a recipe that I can follow exactly---I always see a way to improve or improvise. I've never taken a cooking class. I cook for my family every day-- but as I work full time the main cooking and planning takes place one day a week--Sunday. We then go from there. The act of sitting down to the table and eating dinner as a family is important to us all and this makes me happy. Old Gourmet Magazines, the NYT taught me the basics of cooking but living overseas in different countries taught me to enjoy food.
