I am a jewelry designer, graphic designer and cook. After years of writing a cookbook, I finally decided to write a blog. From an international background: Hungarian, Rumanian parents, born in Montreal, we moved to New Rochelle NY in the late 50's, moved to Cascais, Portugal in the early 60's where I spent the best years of my life. We traveled extensively which gave me a taste of discovery. I have traveled a lot on my own: from Europe to the Caribbean, to the South Pacific and the US...picking up bits and pieces of culinary experiences. My mother was a fabulous cook: the smells from her kitchen were divine! As a little girl I would hang around her apron strings watching her cook or teach our Portuguese cook her mother's classic Hungarian dishes. My recipes are international foods I picked up, now most of them are my own creations with an international twist. The ingredients I use are fresh - we go to the local market to pick seasonal produce. I rarely shop at large commercial grocery stores. Soon I will be offering cooking classes - available to individuals or groups.
