About This Cook

I graduated from Johnson & Wales Culinary University in 1995. I've mainly been an executive chef in Telluride, CO. I returned home to Memphis to get married and started catering and teaching cooking classes. I currently work in Kitchen Ministries at Hope Church in Memphis, teach cooking classes, cook weekly meals for clients, and write a food column and food blog while raising two amazing girls. We love cooking together and eat most meals at home. I cook all our meals for the week on Mondays so that we can spend time together without the stress of getting dinner ready. Our family loves soccer, swimming, riding bikes, dogs, drawing/painting, coffee, fried chicken, ethnic foods, chocolate, and cupcakes. I believe food/cooking should be fun, memorable, and uncomplicated. i really enjoy the hotline of food52 because it's similar to teaching cooking classes and answering all the questions people would have during the class. Helping people learn how to cook simple and delicious food so that their family comes together, even if just for one meal for 20 minutes, is a true passion of mine.
