I love exotic, healthy food so I taught myself to cook the things I love to eat. Dining out in NYC and traveling internationally inspires me. I find something I love, and replicate it at home, but make it healthier and locally sourced. I suspect I'm on the Border Patrol watch list for smuggling home so many spices, curry pastes, and fruits (Mangosteens were illegal until recently, and how was I expected to live without them, anyhow?).
I stick to vegan food pretty much, though I do eat fish (the lower on the food chain, the better!). Currently, I'm shopping at the vegetable carts by the Manhattan bridge on the Taiwanese side of Chinatown. I've been known to bake for my dog (a darling brindle and most appreciative rescued greyhound).
