I grew up in a town of 150 people in Kansas. Since there wasn't a whole lot to do in a town of that size cooking, food, gatherings, family and friends hold my dearest memories. The smell of hot chocolate will take me back to high school football games and no strawberry jam will ever taste as sweet as my grandma's preserves.
I moved to New York City in 2007 and have continued my culinary journey in many new and exciting ways while still holding on to my love of simple Midwest comfort food. I'm lucky to have a husband who is just as excited about cooking and eating experiments as I am. I document my food journey over at my blog, Chomping the Big Apple, and also write a weekly article on tailgating recipes for the Pine Tar Press Website.
