I grew up the South with an eager appetite and a wandering heart. After spending four years in Portland, Oregon, I fell head, hands, and nose first into the culinary world. I covered the (sadly short lived) "meat beat" for the Willamette Week, hosted and catered countless dinner parties, and worked as a personal chef and nanny to three awesome kids. After that, I lived in Boston working as a test cook, writer, and hand model at America's Test Kitchen. I now live in Berkeley, CA and freelance for sites like The Oxford American, Serious Eats, and Berkeleyside NOSH.
