About This Cook

I've been making ice creams from the ground up for more than 15 years and I founded Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams in 2002 in the North Market in Columbus, Ohio. Many of the recipes for those ice creams can be found in "Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams at Home" (Artisan, 2011). We use grass-grazed cream (from Snowville Creamery in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains) and the best ingredients we can find from around the world. We now have 10 scoop shops (9 in Ohio; 1 in Nashville, TN), and we sell pints at jenis.com and in freezer aisles throughout the United States. When I'm not trying to create new flavors, I devote time to Local Matters, as well as reading, painting at my kitchen table, sewing, drinking wine, cooking, and making big messes with my husband and two children at our house in Columbus.
