This article is brought to you by our friends at Electrolux as part of an ongoing series focusing on seasonal ingredients for the holidays. This month, we're talking chocolate.

Today: The best gifts to give are the ones you make. Make sure they get to your loved ones in one piece with these handy tricks.

There are people who love picking out holiday gifts for loved ones, and there are others who hate it. There might be more of us in the former camp if it was easier to know just what everyone wanted. When it comes to gift-giving, it's no fun to play it safe, and we don't want to take too big of a risk in case it results in disappointment.

But, in our experience, there's one gift that's always a hit: A box of homemade cookies is not only thoughtful, it's practical—after all, everyone loves cookies, especially this time of year. The only problem is figuring out how to transport these delicate treats without breaking the whole batch. Not to worry—we've figured out the best ways to wrap and send your edible gifts so that everyone is happy this holiday season.

For others who thought this article would give you some tips on how to pack treats to mail out to loved ones - one thing my grandmother always did when my father was in the air force was use marshmallows to secure the food. She would make a whole cake, frosting and all, and then cover it with marshmallows before wrapping it up and when she put it into the box, she would use wadded up newspapers to secure it in the box. This was back in the '70s and I still use this method on all sorts of treats, from pies to cakes and they almost always arrive intact. :)

What is that string called?

Kat December 7, 2015
I assume it's twine or a natural twisted hemp string.

This is fine for just handing cookies over to people in person, but what about mailing? This heading is a little misleading.

I agree, I live 2,000 miles away from my entire family and was excited when I saw the heading. A bit of a letdown. The info was nice, though :)

Wish you would also include this as text for people who just want the info but don't feel like watching the video, no matter how lovely it is.
