4 Dishes for a New Year's Hangover

January  1, 2015

For our Provisions shop, we search for the best and most beautiful things for our kitchen and home. We want to spread the love, so we're talking about some of our favorite products and why they're tops.

Today: Head aching from too much revelry and Champagne? Make a meal to soothe yourself.

The morning after a serious celebration like New Year’s can be rough. Here's how we handle it: We cook ourselves something -- anything really -- because the ritual of cooking soothes us. These are the four dishes we turn to -- that also happen to be satisfying and nourishing and easy to make.

Shop the Story

Hash Browns in a Copper Sauté Pan

Green Juice in a Vitamix

Bloody Mary with a La Boîte Spice Blend

Bacon & Egg Sandwich with Wholegrain Tin Mustard

More: If you’re feeling simultaneously hungover and fancy, reimagine your sandwich as a ham, Gruyère, and egg galette.

Armed with these dishes, you can greet January bright-eyed rather than bleary-eyed, and usher in a new year on a note of thoroughly good food.

Tell us, what's your most trusted morning after meal?

I like warm homemade bread slathered with fresh raw milk butter, ice cream in all seasons, the smell of garlic in olive oil, and sugar snap peas fresh off the vine.

You must mean, "What is your day after the morning after meal" ? The day after is a hair of the dog, saltines, old movies and babysitters. :-)
