20 DIYs You Can Start and Finish on a Snow Day

March 13, 2017

The anticipation of a snow day is almost as good as the day itself. It's all about imagining your dream day, one that's full of relaxation and productivity. We stock up on bottled water and extra batteries like we're about to go live underground for a few months (maybe that's just my parents). We think about finally giving that baking project a go, or finishing up the novel on our bedside table, or having a Monopoly marathon—and then actually do it!. Back in the days of Blockbuster, we would get our movies rentals sorted; now we queue them up. The possibilities of a free day are endless—it's almost hard to know where to start!

Look to these 20 totally doable DIY projects for some inspiration. Many will rely on supplies you already have, but you can also pick up materials while you're out getting your lifetime supply of canned goods. DIY on a snow day, and you'll be rewarded with a fabulous day and something to show for it.

This article originally ran in January of last year. We're re-upping it now because of the storm in the Northeast.

Could I just suggest not stocking up on water bottles and just filling some pitchers / bottles with water. Single use plastic isn't necessary for a stay at home day.
