you can find recipes in any book, and all over the internet. Amanda's book is wildly enjoyable to read even if you have no intention of cooking anything.

I gave the book to my daughter for the holidays - and then realized I had to have one, too. I read it - nearly 900 pages - cover to cover and savored it all. The internet is great - but books are great, too, and this one makes the case obvious.

Third? Third? Hmpf. As one who has read every word of the book and who cooks from it often, I beg to differ. In my mind, it's the best book out of the 11 that I bought last year.

Congratulations to both Amanda and Merrill! I received the cookbook two weeks ago as a late Christmas present, and I'm absolutely loving it. The kudos are well-deserved.

That is fantastic news A&M! It has a permanent spot on my go-to cookbook shelf. I too love the stories and cook's notes in your writing, Amanda. That's what was missing from Mark Bittman's soup piece on Sunday. He needs to read your book. :)
