Napa Cabbage Salad with Hot Bacon Dressing

Amanda made shaved vegetable salads on The Today Show this morning -- including her grandmother Helen Getz's Napa Cabbage Salad with Hot Bacon Dressing (pictured above) and Brussels Sprouts Salad a la M. Wells (and we don't want to leave you hanging -- here's the one that gets cut off in the video: Butternut Squash Salad).

Whenever I watch a segment like this, I realize how high the pressure is to be fast. You didn't miss a beat!

Really nice segment -- and the salads are brilliant, too.

What fun! I liked how Al and Natalie swooped in when they heard "bacon."

Great video but you make us worry slicing without the safety thingy - that's how I topped my thumb on Jaws! (my mandoline's pet name)

Mom's been getting calls and emails all day from people who saw you on tv this AM and Grandmom is strutting around like a movie star! I couldn't watch while you used the mandoline - it stresses me out when you are slicing such little things like Brussels sprouts.
Great job - the salads looked delish and you were perfectly coifed. :-)
