Grilled Colima Calimari  Quick Tako Poke

Any food52 member is welcome to help us test our Editors' Pick candidates, so go call dibs on the recipe you'd like to test in the comments section below! We'd love to see some new testers in the mix. Don't forget to email us your notes (about 100 words) to [email protected] by next Tuesday at 5pm.

We'll collect your comments, decide the official list of Editors' Picks and publish your evaluation in the headnote if the recipe is selected as an Editors' Pick (with credit, of course!). And even if the recipe you test isn't chosen as an Editors' Pick, please feel free to leave your testing notes in the recipe's comments section. Constructive criticism is always encouraged!

I've sourced a whole frozen octopus (you'd think because I live on an island surrounded by water that it would be easy to do this...I think the must send them all to the mainland!) and I would love to test the Pulpo a la Feira. Thanks!

Burnt O. May 14, 2011
WOW - way to step up Jen!!

innoabrd May 15, 2011
yeah! Not only did someone step up to test mine, that someone is a contest winner! You do me great honour...being a third-worlder, part of me is tempted to offer baksheesh...

gingerroot May 15, 2011
Lol...just looked up "baksheesh"...my eight armed friend is defrosting in the fridge and I am excited to make your recipe tomorrow!

LLStone May 13, 2011
Instead, I'll test the Marinated and Grilled Baby Octopus, as our grill is always on and I know I can get the baby octopus. Sorry about the confusion! Pulpo a la Feira is still up for grabs! It looks good, too.

LLStone May 13, 2011
Except, now I'm worried that I can't find an entire octopus. I'll look for one in the morning, but if anyone is sure they can find one, feel free to take this.

innoabrd May 14, 2011
Baby octopus really doesn't work, but part of a whole is fine, and frozen is actually ideal!

LLStone May 13, 2011
I would also love to taste the Pulpo a la Feira! I assume it's OK to test more than one - and I'm using frozen octopus.

TiggyBee May 13, 2011
Oh boy, I would test something - but away for the weekend.

Burnt O. May 13, 2011
OK - I'll take Stuffed Squid braised in White Wine.

Burnt O. May 13, 2011
No - by all means go right ahead! I REALLY don't have time to do anything this weekend - I was just trying to help out. I have plans tomorrow and I'm catering a big event on Sunday afternoon, and have obligations on Mon and Tues too.

hardlikearmour May 13, 2011
I can probably do the Quick Tako Poke Tuesday night, so my review would have to be a bit late. If anyone else wants it, though, I would definitely give it up as I'm not 100% certain I can make it happen.

Kristen M. May 13, 2011
OK, everyone, here's what's left: Stuffed Squid Braised in White Wine; Calamari Ripieni Stufati al Vino Bianco; Baby Octopus in a Nest of Soba Noodles and Snippy Snap Peas; Quick Tako Poke; Marinated and Grilled Baby Octopus; Pulpo a la Feira

innoabrd May 13, 2011
Come on guys, my first time up for an editor's pick! Please, someone pick Pulpo a la Feira!

LLStone May 13, 2011
I'd love to try it!

wssmom May 13, 2011
If left unclaimed, I will add the Ika Teriyaka to the Takoyaki ....

ibbeachnana May 13, 2011
I'm new here, still learning the site so I have missed several testing opportunities and while I would love to test a squid recipe I'm afraid that my husband would only eat fried calamari, maybe I can test a future recipe now that I know where to look for the editor's picks etc.

Congrats to the winners.

Emiko May 13, 2011
Oh man, all the ones I'd love to do have already been mentioned: the Marinated seafood salad, the Squid, Chickpeas and pasta, and above all the Calamari Ripieni!! So... can I do the takoyaki?

lorigoldsby May 13, 2011
Takoyaki was claimed by wssmom earlier. I'm out of the kitchen this next week.

lorigoldsby May 13, 2011
Ika teriyaki, pulpo a la feira, marinated and grilled baby octopus, baby octopus in a nest, quick Tajo poke and soap de siete are still waiting to be picked for the team!

lorigoldsby May 13, 2011
Sorry ginger root...TAKO darn auto spell

Emiko May 13, 2011
Oh oops, didn't see that! then... Sopa de Seite de Mar please?

lorigoldsby May 13, 2011
I hope you enjoy it. The nice thing about that soup is that you can puck and choose which seafood to put in the bowl.

jeinde May 12, 2011
I'd be happy to do the squid curry soup as I love Thai flavors. By the time I get to the Editor's picks choices, usually everything is long gone!

duclosbe1 May 12, 2011
Thanks, jeinde! I hope you enjoy the soup!

LLStone May 12, 2011
Fusilli with Octopus in Red Wine Sauce, please!

Helen's A. May 12, 2011
My fridge died a week ago. No cooking for me until the new one comes in another week. :-(

hardlikearmour May 12, 2011
Congrats all! I'd love to test something, but unfortunately my husband and I are tiling our kitchen and dining room floors this week end so I am outta commission!

cookinginvictoria May 12, 2011
I'd love to test Grilled Calamari with Curried Crab Filling. I've had my eye on this recipe -- sounds really delicious!

hardlikearmour May 12, 2011
Thanks, civ! I hope you enjoy them.

Emily H. May 12, 2011
I'll take the Nakji Bokkeum. Sounds delish and is my favorite dish in Ktown!

wssmom May 12, 2011
Takoyaki please please please!!!

Frontalgirl May 12, 2011
I'd like the grilled Colima Calamari. please :)

wssmom May 12, 2011
Thanks so much Frontalgirl! I hope you enjoy them as much as we did!
