13 Muffins Ready For Shorter Days & Dropping Temperatures

September 19, 2017

I know that muffins are around all year, but I crave them in the fall. It could be the warm, fuzzy feeling I get from smelling fresh-baked batches. Or the thick layers of streusel. Or comforting bites of cinnamon or sweet potato or carrots or bran. Or that (in the fluctuating temperatures of fall) they make toasty hand-warmers when I forget gloves.

Muffins also bake incredibly fast and keep fresh for days, which is perfect for dark mornings where it just seems so difficult to get out of bed, much less make breakfast.

The leaves haven’t changed yet, and I still sweat on my walk to work. But fall is just around the corner (September 22!), and these 13 muffins are exactly what I need to get in the season’s spirit.
