Benjamin Moore's Color of the Year Will Be Your New Fall Favorite

October 13, 2017

Benjamin Moore’s 2018 paint color is here. The company announced Caliente, a vibrant but surprisingly earthy red tone, as this year’s hue. The shade is tangy but warm and lends to a room a comforting vibrancy that few other colors could provide.

Confident, happy, a symbol of strength and desire, Benjamin Moore’s Color of the Year is Caliente AF-290.

As a fan of red myself, I’m always excited to see it getting a little attention. As Ellen O’Neill, Benjamin Moore director of strategic design intelligence, noted in an interview with Architectural Digest, red has figured prominently in much of the last year. For inspiration, she cites the striking color palette of the Hulu original show The Handmaid’s Tale.

So get ahead of the trend and splash some hearty red across your kitchens, your wardrobe, your walls, even your meals. I’ve rounded up some of the most Caliente items our site has to offer to make the quest that much easier.

I LOVE red! I use red as an accent color throughout my adobe style home. I'm not a fan of orange which caliente suggests. The color in the pic looks like a clear true red. If so, count me in!
