10 Labor Day Deals That Are Actually Worth It

Splurge a little, save a lot.

Almost everything about the transition from summer to fall makes me a little sad, but that’s just the way it goes. At the very least, it makes my annual autumn soundtrack—Joni Mitchell, Stevie Nicks, and pretty much the whole Practical Magic soundtrack—all the more poignant.

Still, I think we can all agree that one one of the best things about fall is that the shopping gets better—it is the September issue of Vogue that matters, after all. But it’s not just the fashion that gets better.

Thanks to the time-honored tradition of Labor Day sales, almost everything gets better. From smaller housewares to big appliances and plenty in between, the retail world abounds with things that are worth snapping up before the cool weather kicks in.

Below, are some of the best Labor Day sales of the year (many of which have already kicked off!), with deals that will let you indulge in a little retail therapy—without burning a hole in your wallet.

The 10 Best Labor Day Deals on Kitchen & Home

1. $100 Off Select Dyson Vacuums at Bed Bath & Beyond

$499 $399 (Save 20%)

If there were a status symbol in the world of vacuum cleaners, it would probably be a Dyson. Blame it on the brand’s extremely convincing spokesman (he’s the founder, James Dyson), but man, do they know how to make you want to get your hands on some of that “cyclone technology.”

Whether you are ready to finally take the plunge for yourself or have a newlywed couple in mind that you love enough to spoil, you’re guaranteed to make someone say the phrase: “I can’t believe I’m getting this excited over a vacuum.”

2. $80 Off KitchenAid’s Artisan 5-Quart Stand Mixer at Bed Bath & Beyond

$379 $299 (Save 21%)

One the one hand, KitchenAid’s timeless stand mixer probably won’t be responsible for turning you into a culinary genius. On the other, you can use it to make everything from ravioli to ice cream (with attachments, which are extra), so maybe it will. Either way, you’ll be glad to have it around when the mood strikes. The best part: It comes in more than 30 colors at this point, so there’s no way you won’t find one to match your tastes.
