FOOD52 Holiday Recipe and Survival Guide

The FOOD52 Holiday Recipe and Survival Guide for iPad, a nifty project produced by our very own FOOD52 community, is finally out. And now is the time to put it to the test. And for all of you bloggers out there, we'd love your help!

We'd like for you to try out the app and review it on your blogs. Make a modernish chocolate gingerbread house along with us in the app videos. Or bake one of the desserts and photograph it. Or test out our planning tips for your Open House party. And ask your readers to share their own best holiday entertaining tips.

Shop the Story

For anyone who plans to blog about their experience, we'll offer:

  • • A video clip from the app to post on your blog
  • • A chance for your readers to win free downloads of the app -- we'll award promo codes to the 5 best entertaining tips, culled from everyone's blog post comments
  • • We'll link to all blog posts here on FOOD52

All you need to do is send an email to [email protected] to let us know you're blogging (get your copy of the app here if you haven't already). We'll email you back with a link to the video. Please post your blog by Monday, December 19.

Thanks so much and we look forward to hearing from you!

Gluten Free Girl

Gluten Free GirlAmanda Hesser and Merrill Stubbs are so damned smart. They’re not only fascinated by food, but they really know it. With their experience, they could have easily started a food site based solely on their knowledge. However, what I love about Food52 is that they reached out to good home cooks around the internet and asked for their ideas...read more

Alexandra's Kitchen

Alexandra's KitchenAfter just 15 minutes with the app, navigating from section to section became as natural as turning to my go-to recipe in a favorite cookbook, an experience you often don’t get with a website...read more.

Sassy Radish

Sassy RadishI just spent two hours leafing through (leafing, as in an iPad, get it?) the holiday recipes on Food52 Holiday App and can I say something? This is truly wonderful stuff! Amanda Hesser and Merrill Stubbs, the site’s creators, have really outdone themselves here...read more.

Healthy Green Kitchen

Healthy Green Kitchen: I love that this toddy was included in the food52 holiday app, and I really love the app as a whole. If you have an iPad, you should treat yourself to it. The app is beautifully photographed, and filled with “low-stress” recipes that are perfect not just for entertaining, but for any meal during the holiday season...read more.

The Newbie FoodieI usually spend hours scouring the web, looking for helpful hints and recipes.  But alas, the genius creators of Food52 have figured these things out for us.  They have put together the Food52 Holiday Recipe and Survival Guide app for iPad...read more.

Francoise Villeneuve: As with all of Food52′s recipes, the editing is top-notch and makes it several thousand steps above most commercial apps in that the dishes are hard to mess up since they’ve been so thoroughly tested...read more.

Latinfoodie: I’ve downloaded digital cookbooks before, and they are usually striking and beautiful, but feel that they miss one key component: usability. The digital pages of the Food 52 cookbook for the iPad, on the other hand, are filled with photos, easy-to-follow instructional videos, slideshows, shopping resources – and everything has been integrated seamlessly throughout...read more.

Before starting Food52 with Merrill, I was a food writer and editor at the New York Times. I've written several books, including "Cooking for Mr. Latte" and "The Essential New York Times Cookbook." I played myself in "Julie & Julia" -- hope you didn't blink, or you may have missed the scene! I live in Brooklyn with my husband, Tad, and twins, Walker and Addison.

I am blogless but I did suggest to my entire team that they ought to get it! I think a couple proud iPad owners did. I was VERY happy to have it by my side at Thanksgiving (my turkey was really properly carved for the first time ever and people thought the way the breast was sliced and presented was tres fancy)

This makes me sad I don't have an ipad. However, I am a luddite. Maybe someone will lend me theirs. Must put out the call to tech savvy friends...
