At our neighborhood farmer’s market, signs have been cropping up near the corn asking us not to peel back the husks to check the kernels. Until now, we had no idea that the way we have been checking our corn is much like “cracking an egg before you buy it.” We certainly don’t want to upset the farmers -- they’re our best friends, especially in these summer months.
