Cookie Cake Nostalgia

September 11, 2012

When I was a kid, my neighbors were always allowed so many more treats than I was. Their kitchen was like a big candy shop, and I remember feeling utterly deprived of all joy in the world because of my mother's "all-natural" snacks. Then one day, I was asked if I wanted a special cookie from our local grocery store. Of course I wanted a cookie, I was 10 years old! And in the rules of play dates, treats were occasionally allowed. So after consulting my own mother via telephone, I was on my way to my first bite of the magical treat called Cookie Cake

But if you remember, we had to buy an entire cake of this cookie treat. And well, that just entails way too much midnight nostalgia snacking for my own good. But fear not! Elizabeth Chapman over at McSweeney's Internet Tendency has found cookie cake by the slice. But is it just as magical as we remember?
