We just want to sit down and have a cup of tea with Annelle, a retired pharmacist, passionate cook and blogger living on the Virginia coast. She only started contributing recipes a few weeks ago, but already we've taken quite a shine to her for the generosity and adventurous spirit embodied in her recipes, like Cape Carteret Oysters Williams -- AKA Rockefeller, Arugula Lasagna and Once in a Blue Moon Cake. Annelle's personal mantra pretty much sums up our approach to life: "We MUST eat to live, so let's enjoy every single bite!" Check out Annelle's page and fan her here.

Food 52, I really LOVE your site! I've found so many wonderful recipes, tips and ideas here. I look forward to checking in every day to see what's new.
Thank you so much for the really nice comments! I would LOVE to have a cup of tea with you all, too--but it would probably be more like a few glasses of wine, or a Negroni or two! Let's do it!

Shayma, thank you so much. I love food photos, but never knew how challenging it can be to snap a good one until I started trying myself!

For full disclosure, we live in Martinsville, in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, in SW Virginia. When we retired we bought a little tin roofed 100 year old house in Beaufort, on the NC coast. We spend about half our time there, and have wonderful neighbors there who are busy teaching me about all the great local seafood

That arugula lasagna looks and sounds so wonderful. And your favorite cookbook is one of my favorites, too :)

I seriously would like to cook through that book! Sometimes I feel like I already have!
Thank you. I'm really just sharing. I learned the recipe in the Chianti region of Tuscany. The night we made it I really almost swooned at the taste. It was so different from anything I had ever tasted.
