Test Kitchen Top 3: Hold The Turkey, Please

November 21, 2012

We're up to our (turkey) necks in Thanksgiving. We're sure you are too. And we couldn't be happier! However, we welcome an opportunity to briefly come up for air and focus on things that have nothing to do with turkey or cranberry sauce or construction paper pilgrim hats. The test kitchen affords us that privilege, as it always asks us to be a step ahead of what's going on; this week, we tested recipes for the Your Best Vanilla contest (hello, baked goods!) with nary a turkey in sight. Peruse this week's decidedly un-Thanksgiving test kitchen snapshots, and be sure to follow us on Instagram @food52. Once everything is on the table, be sure to show off your hard work on instagram and twitter with the hashtag #Food52athome!

Vanilla

1. Stop. Vanilla time. From beans to extract, these magical little pods kept the kitchen smelling amazing all day.

Tea

2. Afternoon Tea in the Test Kitchen. The only answer to a kitchen full of baked goods? Tea time. Served on Amanda's gorgeous china -- a slight step up from the ceramic mugs that some of us are used to.

Adorable Spoon

3. Just for fun, the world's most adorable baby spoon. Spotted on Amanda's table: a tiny spoon that made us swoon. Hey, people, it's the little things.
