Love the Uzbekistan photo. The colors, composition, light and content are spot on. It's the best of the bunch.

It's gotta be the Uzbekistan one from this group - wonderful colours and composition!

For me, only the photos with people would be in my favorites, as this is really the essence of travel. That said, Uzbekistan is amazing and I have a crush on the Butcher of Athens.

Uzbekistan, then followed (at quite a distance) by Amsterdam and Athens. The photo of the Uzbek market captures it all - beautiful composition and lightning, and there's a story to be told by the people in it and by what they're wearing. Look at how the man in the bottom of the photo - presumably the seller - is wearing what appears to be Western/modern clothing, and the other three people are dressed very traditionally, but they are all taking part in an age-old practice of purchasing food at a market. Love it.

Each and every one of these photos are incredibly inspirational, I sure would like to see some more from within the states...

Wow, these are all fantastic! I am especially drawn to the Uzbekistan photo - it is subtly graphic and a pure slice of life.

Spice market, pizza, pigs. All have great impact, for different reasons: composition, kinetics, and "shock and awe," respectively. But hearty congrats to all the finalists and good luck moving to the winner's circle!

Peru, Athens, Uzbekistan in that order with the lobster after that - I like his big eyes! LOVE the pigs - really drawn to that - so much to take in. Meat guy in Athens is an interesting composition and I, too, like to see the people behind the foods we eat. Uzbekistan market is just a gorgeous shot - nice composition, great color, interesting angle. Good luck to all!

Uzbekistan photo has a great design, Meat man has great character, and the pigs have amazing expressions, almost looks like a still from a movie!

Meat man, lobster and pig's head in that order. All are great.

Italy, Uzbekistan or Peru.

I vote for the pigs first--well composed and makes you think. Second place to Olmstead's shot from Uzbekistan, because it is a great photo.

I love the bike photo, it looks like a place I would love to shop and riding a bike to the market seems so peaceful.

mrslarkin June 2, 2010
I love the bike photo but wish it weren't so fuzzy. The roly-poly pig head photo is great - looks like they're smiling. And I think my favorite is the Nut Man - so colorful, the angle is great, and you can almost imagine the conversation.

I like the sardines, #2
