Lacto-Fermented Pickles with Garlic Scapes Shish Taouk with Toum (Garlic Sauce)

Any food52 member is welcome to help us test our Editors' Pick candidates, so go call dibs on the recipe you'd like to test in the comments section below! We'd love to see some new testers in the mix. Don't forget to email us your notes (about 100 words) to [email protected] by next Tuesday at 5pm.

We'll collect your comments, decide the official list of Editors' Picks and publish your evaluation in the headnote if the recipe is selected as an Editors' Pick (with credit, of course!). And even if the recipe you test isn't chosen as an Editors' Pick, please feel free to leave your testing notes in the recipe's comments section. Constructive criticism is always encouraged!

Those Grilled Double-Cut Lamb Chops, Garlic Herb Butter, Garlic Mashed Potatoes look out of this world. My boys are both home for the summer, and I'm still contemplating a "big" weekend meal, so if no one else wants these, I'd love to try them. ;o)

If y'all are holding back on the grilled pluots, you can use plums just as well in the recipe....

vrunka June 18, 2010
I'd like to test the grilled meyer lemon pizza -- sounds delish!

Food52 June 18, 2010
To everyone offering to do a second test: thank you, thank you, thank you! We will give new folks till 5pm ET to call them and otherwise they're all yours.

fiveandspice June 18, 2010
I can do the grilled haddock too, if no one else wants it.

drbabs June 18, 2010
If no one else wants it, I'll take the grilled lemon cake with strawberries and lemon thyme cream.

I'll take the Cucumber, Dandelion and Barley Salad, too, if that's ok with you...

Peaches-n-Herb recipe please.

MrsWheelbarrow June 17, 2010
Anything left?

WinnieAb June 17, 2010
I think my pickles might still be up for grabs. No pressure...

MrsWheelbarrow June 17, 2010
Fantastic! Pickling cukes are looking great at the farmers markets. I'll take Lacto Fermented Pickles.

AntoniaJames June 17, 2010
I also plan to make these, too, and will leave comments. Already have the cukes, but have been tied up in meetings all week, out of the office, driving more hours in the day than I'd like, etc., so these are on the agenda for Saturday, if I can't make them tomorrow. So looking forward to making, and eating, them!! ;o)

drbabs June 17, 2010
Winnie, I also plan to make them, but I want to wait till we have really good cucumbers.

WinnieAb June 17, 2010
MrsW: They take a few days of sitting on the counter in the jar to be ready, so for testing purposes, I'd get them started tomorrow, if possible.

And thanks AJ and drbabs for trying them, too, whenever it may be ;)

Try A pachadi
Pachadi is a south-indian raita with coconut and green chillies

AntoniaJames June 17, 2010
I will very happily try the cucumber mint ice cream! Lucky me!! Thank you. ;o)

Lizthechef June 17, 2010
Lucky you, indeed - looks good and I'm wondering which of the suggestions you will adopt in your version..

drbabs June 17, 2010
Oh--thanks! Have fun, and I do hope you like it!

AntoniaJames June 17, 2010
Ahhh, when doing my laps this evening, I came up with several wicked new ways to use this ice cream . . . . I plan to try it without the white chocolate, whose cloying sweetness ruins (to my mind) anything you put it in. So, I'll make the basic recipe .. . but what happens next, well, you'll just have to wait until next week to find out. ;o)

drbabs June 17, 2010
Looking forward to it!

EmilyNunn June 17, 2010

Amber O. June 17, 2010
Grilled Lemon Chicken with Feta Dressing on Grilled Thyme Bread sounds like a perfect recipe for me to test!

AntoniaJames June 17, 2010
I will very happily try the Cucumber Pachadi, please!! Thank you. ;o)

Food52 June 17, 2010
Darn, WinnieAb beat you to the punch -- anything else you'd like to test?

AntoniaJames June 17, 2010
Okay, no worries. In a comment above, I selected the cucumber mint ice cream. I plan to make the Pachadi anyway -- always looking for new condiments with Indian spices, given how often we eat spiced dal and similar scrumptious dishes around here -- so I'll comment on it, too! ;o)

Food52 June 18, 2010
Great!
