A question about a recipe: Cardamon Orange Flourless Chocolate Cake

If you were going to serve this Cardamon Orange Flourless Chocolate Cake next month, when raspberries are out of season, how would you garnish it for a dinner party? Thanks so much. ;o)

I am really loving all the suggestions for the delicious flour cake - the creativity is amazing! Hope you all try out the recipe, it is a favorite of ours.

I was going to suggest pomegranate too. You could always make a syrup with the seeds, and sprinkle it over the top, if it's what you wanted. Or as cranberry suggests just put the seed over the top and around the plate!

I used pomegranate arils to garnish a similar recipe over the holidays. They worked out very well and were lovely sprinkled around the plate.

Toasted slivered almonds pressed onto the sides?

I was going to suggest candied orange peel or white chocolate shavings.

What about just simple candied orange slices with a few cracks of black pepper?

Hi Antonia,

I am happy to hear you are going to make this recipe - we love it. I have re-made it a bit as well - you might enjoy this version too. http://chezus.com/2011/12/29/flourless-chocolate-tart-with-candied-cranberries/

For winter, I would serve it with candied cranberries or kumquats - this is the recipe I use for kumquats, cranberries can be found at the above link - http://chezpim.com/bake/candied-kumquat. Also, as the above message states a raspberry coulis would be nice. If you can find frozen passion fruit puree that makes a great sauce to serve along side this recipe as well. Let me know if you have any other questions. Please keep me posted as to what you decide to do.

Happy New Year!

What about a raspberry coulis made with frozen berries? Candied kumquats would be also be nice, and they'd complement the orange zest in the cake.
