Braised Plastic!!

My roommate was braising chicken in stock. When he pulled out the pot, he noticed the plastic top of the chicken stock had fallen off and into the braising liquid. Is this still ok to eat?

I wouldn't worry either. I'd thought you were going to say that you'd left a plastic bag of necks and giblets in a bird, and that could be worse!

If it looks the same as when it fell in, it's most likely safe.
