replacing fresh tomatoes for canned

I want to make the following recipes, which calls for canned tomatoes, but I have some fresh San Marzano tomatoes that I need to use up. Can I replace the canned for fresh without changing anything else? http://www.saveur.com/article...

I think it would work fine and you wouldn't need to change anything else (although perhaps a bit more liquid if they aren't very juicy). In a fairly recent thread, @pierino said "Go by weight. A large can of tomatoes weighs 28oz. Substitute an equivalent measure of fresh tomatoes. You will want to blanch and peel them first but that's pretty simple.
