I have a question about the recipe "Red Cooked Butternut Squash" from thirschfeld. does it matter if the lid is on for the braise?

You may want to leave the lid on since you're only starting with 2 cups of braising liquid. If you want the sauce to reduce more you can take the lid off for the last few minutes of cooking.
