I have a question about the recipe "Saffron Semifreddo with Cherry-Cardamom Syrup and Salted Honey-Hazelnuts" from Brenna. The recipe calls for dried unsweetened cherries. Would that be dried sweet cherries like bing or ranier, or is it dried tart cherries like montmorency?

This would be dried sweet cherries such as you describe, but to which no sugars were added during processing. Some dried fruits often have sugar added (such as cranberries) - just check the label to be sure.
