Halloween whoopie pies

I was planning to make chocolate whoopie pies and thought I might experiment with a pumpkin frosting. I'm not yet sure I'll like the flavor combo, but I have a backup plan of it doesn't work. Question is, does anyone have a tested cream cheese pumpkin frosting recipe?

My favorite farm stand at the Greenmarket has pumpkin whoopie pies this time of year. I'd guess the baker uses a pumpkin bread recipe. Whoopie pies are not traditionally frosted. They're filled with that white cream.
