I'm having potato pancakes tonight for dinner as its the first night of Hanukkah. What are some good things to go with it besides applesauce?

The suggestions so far are all interesting dairy or fish pairings with the latkes.

Another way to go is to think of them las if they were hash browns and serve fried eggs or fried salami with them. The old “breakfast for dinner” trick.

They are also delicious served with chopped fresh scallions, creme fraiche/sour cream, a small piece of smoked salmon, even a little cranberry sauce!

yogurt and sour cream are other great latke toppings. If you keep kosher and are having a meat meal, you can try Tofutti sour cream which makes a good substitute

I like to serve latkes with a mixture of sour cream, creme fraiche, chives and a bit of lemon juice. To celebrate Thanksgivukkah I'm planning on serving latkes with cranberry sauce this year. Enjoy!!
