A question about a recipe: Creamy Mushroom Soup

I have a question about the recipe "Creamy Mushroom Soup" from MrsWheelbarrow. How about using dried mushrooms? I picked some porchini and hawk wing this fall and dried them. Anyone have ideas about whether they should be sauted after rehydrating.

my inclination is to say that all mushrooms benefit from sauteeing.
i've never heard of hawk wing; must read about them.

I'd saute them. Sounds fabulous! When I make mushroom soup, even if I'm using fresh mushrooms, I also use some dried and reconstituted. AND I also use some pulverized dried mushrooms. The different media add many layers of flavor.
