I have a question about the recipe "Texas Breakfast Beer Bread" from aargersi. I want to make this for a hostess gift but I am not big on maple flavor and do not want to buy maple sugar. Can I sub plain sugar.I do have maple syrup.

Hi there! You could sub out brown sugar, or something like turbinado or demerara would also be good. Heck, plain old white sugar would be good - crunchy - but no caramel-y flavor.
