It shouldn't. This recipe has a blind-baked crust with a separate custard filling. It is not baked together as an integrated pie (raw crust + raw filling).

As long as you pour the custard filling into any blind-baked pie crust, you should be good.

The pie crust is baked blind (no filling) normally, without a water bath.
