If your question is about a replacement for black cod, here is the standard answer: use whatever is fresh and available in your area that closely resembles the original fish in the recipe, namely a firm textured white fish.

You can try to substitute for Black Cod but all else will be disappointing. Black cod is fatty and glorious. Nothing else compares
