A question about a recipe: Shrimp with Coconut Milk Grits & XO Sauce

I have a question about the recipe "Shrimp with Coconut Milk Grits & XO Sauce" from Alicia Lu. What kind of sardines do you use in this recipe? I assume canned. Any particular brand to recommend?

Hi Sipa,

Yes, canned sardines work great, as do any kind of cooked sardines. Any brand should work, since XO sauce is less about emphasizing each individual ingredient/brand and more about how each one contributes to the overall flavor of the sauce. Hope this helps!
